12 Agile Principles in summarized format — Nrupal Das
Agile Mindset & agile team members discussing on a face to face meeting.

First have an agile mindset then worry about agile transformation.

  • Consumer needs
  • Welcome change
  • Frequent delivery
  • Collaboration: Biz-Dev
  • Motivated Team
  • F2F interaction
  • Working Software
  • Sustainable Velocity
  • Product Excellence
  • Simplicity — Prioritization
  • Self-organized teams
  • Self improvement goals

Further Notes:

  • Working Software prioritized over all else — documentation, meetings, buckling under pressure from sales team, impressing senior management, etc.😉]
  • Self-organized teams: Knowledge workers vs factory workers
  • Self improvement goals: In wildlife this is what works — Grow, thrive, decline or grow, reproduce & die. In modern job world — Learn, Mentor, & Retire. If you are not learning yourself, and mentoring others, you might as well retire.
  • Motivation: Racehorse are incredibly well looked after by owners — diet, medicines, exercises etc. ; and have an amazing relationship with his/her jockey; That said, did I tell you they are fine specimens of their species?😉
  • Simplicity–the art of maximizing the amount of work not done–is essential. If you don’t believe this sentence, listen to Steve Jobs or Elon Musk. If you are still not persuaded, well then. Good Luck.
  • Product Excellence: “A thing of beauty is joy forever”, John Keats. It applies to technical excellence, UX, product features and of course, UX research. Anything & everything.
  • Frequent Delivery: When you are incredibly hungry and cold, and you get a quick decent warm soup, what follows tastes so much better. That restaurant has a high probability of getting a good review & repeat business from you.
  • Collaboration: Ever watched Orcas (killer whales) take down great white sharks and whales. They are the “apex predator” of oceans. One species, unchallenged across all the oceans. They are social animals from the dolphin family, they collaborate and coordinate when hunting and nothing stops them when they make up their mind that this is our prey.
